Christ in me – The Spirit of Glory
“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.””
Daniel 3:16-18 NKJV
Fiery trials, tests & persecutions are the means for us to prove to the world who our God is! Many a times, we wish and expect God to prove who He is especially to those who trouble us. In our frustration, we speak words which are unparliamentary or may even curse saying, “God will punish you or God will not spare you or God will deal with you”.
But when our faith is tested, the onus lies on us to prove who our God is. This is what Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego did. They made two very powerful statements before their ruthless king.
1. “Our God whom we serve is well able to save us from this burning fiery furnace.
2. Even if He doesn’t save us, still He is our God and we will not serve any other God.”
It’s absolutely awesome!!
My beloved , we all wish that our God should show up and prove Himself during our trying times. However, are we willing to let go our expectation and still hold on to our integrity?
Can I accept when others are preferred before me even though I am next in seniority and rest my case with God who judges righteously ?
“Whether promotion or no promotion, I will continue to serve Him and be faithful in the place of work for He is my shield and my exceeding great reward.” – Is this my strong conviction, steadfast resolution & immovable stance during trials?
I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus is confessed not only when we want to experience instant relief or blessing but also when the tides are against & provocation is at its peak & I desperately expect God to help me to hold my tongue allowing Him to work so that the latter glory will be greater than the former in Jesus name . Amen 🙏
