Beholding Jesus Is Being Filled With The Knowledge Of His Will In All Wisdom & Spiritual Understanding!
“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;”
Colossians 1:9 NKJV
Dearly Beloved,
Apostle Paul’s this one sentence prayer is so profound that it may take days or even months to fully comprehend.
He is praying for the Colossians which also applies to us as well today that it is one thing to know what is God’s will and it is totally another dimension to understand when God’s will must take place.
The wisdom of God’s will imparts in us the understanding of the timing of God. In Greek it is known as “Kairos” or “God moment”. This is very powerful !
Take the example of Moses, one of the Greatest Prophets, who struggled to understand this aspect of God’s timing. When he was forty years old, it came to his heart to visit his brethren, the children of Israel. For he supposed that his brethren would understand that God would deliver them by his hand, but they did not understand.” (Acts 7:23, 25). Although it was the will of God that he will be the deliverer of Israel, yet it was not the right time. _It took another 40 years to understand the “God moment” of his assignment.
O God! Save us from this lack of understanding in Jesus name !
My beloved, we all falter at the “timing” of God. That is why Paul is praying that we may be filled with the knowledge of His will in ALL WISDOM and SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING.
Let’s pray this awesome prayer :
“Father, fill me with the knowledge of Your Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding “. Amen 🙏
