Grace for you today !
Behold Jesus the Faithful King who is our True Riches!
“For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.”
Genesis 3:5-6 NKJV
The temptation of the devil is designed to make man to desire for something which he thinks that he doesn’t have, so that he works /strives to have it. If the devil could achieve this then man is successfully moved from his rest. Discontentment is the major reason that plucks a person from his “Rest”.
What we are taught in the sunday school is that we need to be obedient to our parents unlike Adam and Eve who disobeyed God and lost their rightful place of “Rest “ – The Garden of Eden . But we hardly realize that it is their “discontentment” that eventually led to their “disobedience”.
Godliness with contentment is great gain ( 1 Timothy 6:6), whereas today many suppose that godliness is a means of gain.
They pursue riches in greed and go astray from the Righteousness of faith in Christ , who is our True riches !
Christ in us is the greatest treasure that resulted from Jesus’ supreme sacrifice at the Cross to redeem the whole human race from permanent damnation. Whereas the first parents plunged all of us into depravity and death, Christ redeemed us from this curse and restored us to His true restful ‘Rest’ .
Beloved! Believe and embrace this love of Jesus. His finished work of redemption indeed has finished the devil and death once and for all.
We are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! Therefore, we rest in Him to reign!! Amen 🙏
