Behold Jesus – the Light of the world & cross over to your God-given destiny
“Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” And they launched out. But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.”
Luke 8:22-24 NKJV
The disciples of Jesus were fear stricken when a great windstorm came and caused havoc to the point that their boat almost capsized. The situation went beyond their control and their past experience of rowing the boat to safety could no longer help them.
When all their belief in themselves , efforts, experience & acumen failed , they looked up to Jesus for salvation. Obviously, they didn’t take heed to what He said just before they began their journey – “ Let us cross over to the other side” . They didn’t reason out saying ,”how can we perish midway when He told us to cross over?”.
Yes my beloved, when we treasure His word in our heart, no storm can cause jeopardy in our lives, even though it may come to try us. Christ in us who is the light of the world , enlightens us to have the full confidence in His guidance to crossover to our God-given destiny.
