Christ My Glory!
“And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42 NKJV
Jesus had come to the house of the sisters in Bethany, Martha and Mary. Compare this to a life of Christ in you ( dwelling in your heart ), because in the New Testament, our body is house (temple) of God. Seeing from this perspective-
Did both Martha and Mary have Jesus dwelling in their hearts ? Yes
Was Jesus partial ? No
But, did both enjoy the blissful and ever- secured experience in Christ ? No
Why ?
Because, one ( Mary) practised ( treasured ) His Presence while the other ( Martha ) didn’t .
You may ask me, How can you say that?
In fact, it should be the other way around. Martha was serving God wholeheartedly, whereas Mary was just sitting and listening at the feet of Jesus .
My beloved, it is important to serve God . By this we express our love for God. But, it is much more important to feed ourselves with God’s love for us .
Without necessary input from Him, our output for Him can only drain us spiritually and exhaust us mentally to the point we complain like Martha. Feed yourself with His unconditional love for you every morning. Allow Jesus to FIRST FEED you.
IN RECEIVING YOU REIGN.
Think of His Love that was demonstrated full blast on the Calvary’s Cross. By this you are practicing His Presence which is Christ in you & receive the Glorious life you had imagined & hoped for . Amen 🙏
