Grace for you today !
Jesus your Firewall !!
“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.”
I Timothy 1:15 NKJV
What an amazing statement and worthy of all acceptance ! Truly the only purpose of the Lord Jesus Christ to come to this earth is to save sinners.
What is equally amazing is the fact that Paul the apostle admits himself to be the chief of all sinners . He didn’t say this in despair and guilt nor did he declare this in his struggle with sin . He simply reminded himself of the amazing work of grace upon his life every single day even when he was at the peak of his successful ministry. This we understand because he uses the present tense here – “I am chief”
The most difficult sin to be dealt with is self righteousness . Yes, a self righteous man doesn’t even realize this nor can he accept it . He thinks he is right . All other sins leave behind a feeling of guilt . But self righteousness does not. It takes amazingly amazing grace of God to make such a person realize his most pitiable condition . Paul kept reminding himself of the great deliverance he had from self righteousness.
My beloved , this is one of the major reasons I sincerely encourage you to declare that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus . This confession will definitely prevent you from drifting into this terrible & unrealizable sin called self righteousness. Amen 🙏
