Sinai — The Voice of Self-Confidence
📖 Exodus 19:8
“All that the LORD hath spoken we will do.”
Beloved,
At Sinai, Israel sincerely declared:
“We will do.”
But this statement revealed confidence in human ability.
The Law was never given because man could fulfill it through the flesh ( his own ability).
The Law was given to expose:
- the weakness of man,
- the inability of self-effort,
- and the need for a Saviour and His Grace.
The flesh always believes:
“I can.”
But God allows man to discover his helplessness so that he may stop depending upon himself and begin depending upon divine life.
The old covenant principle says: “I will do.”
The New Covenant principle says:
“Lord, without You I can do nothing.”
God is not seeking self-confident men, but God-dependent sons.
📖 John 15:5
“Without Me ye can do nothing.”
Prayer
Abba Father, I surrender to your Holy Spirit.
Search me, O my Father, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any self boasting in me, and teach me to depend fully upon You unto everlasting life. In Jesus’ name! Amen
Confession
My confidence is not in myself but in Christ who works mightily within me.
Christ is my righteousness. He is my peace.
Praise the Risen Jesus
