The Two Trees prophetically foreshadow the Two operating principles
📖 Romans 8:2
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”
📖 Genesis 2:9
“The tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.”
Beloved,
From the very beginning, God revealed two operating principles that presently govern every human. The two trees in Eden portrayed these operating principles.
The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil represented:
* independence from God,
* self-effort,
* human ability,
* life sourced from self.
The Tree of Life represented:
* dependence upon God,
* union with the Holy Spirit,
* receiving life from Christ Himself.
Man was never created to function independently.
He was designed to live by divine life.
The tragedy of Adam was not merely disobedience; rather was choosing independence over dependence.
Even today, these two principles still confront humanity:
* self as source or Christ as source.
* Effort as the method or the Holy Spirit as the enabling grace
* Condemnation as the result or the Transformation as the result.
One produces striving and death.
The other produces life and peace.
The Gospel is God restoring man back to the Tree of Life — Christ Himself.

“Christ, who is our life…”
Prayer
Abba Father, deliver me from every form of self-dependence and bring me into deeper union with Christ as my life. Let Your Holy Spirit direct and guide me every day. In Jesus’ name! Amen 🙏
Confession
Christ is my life. I do not live by self-effort but by the Holy Spirit who administers the life of God within me.
Christ is my Righteousness !
Christ is my Peace !
