Christ your Glory !!
“who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.” Acts 8:15-17 NKJV
Once, a well known man of God said ,” If you want to have the Apostolic power, you should follow the Apostolic practices.” How true ! Throughout the Book of Acts, the early Apostles of Christ , presented Christ – that He finished the work on the Cross for us, God raised Him from the dead for us, He is seated at the right of God until God makes all enemies (including death) His footstool & one of the days the Lord Jesus will return to this earth to administer justice and righteousness. This is called as the Gospel of Grace working through the gift of righteousness.
Secondly, those who believe this Gospel are baptised into water ( full immersion) as an act of outward obedience for the inward change of heart.
Thirdly, those who are baptised in water, are prayed for to receive the Holy Spirit. This is what we find in the above portion of the scripture. Those who received this gift of Holy Spirit , began to speak in other tongues and even prophesied.
Receiving or being baptised with the Holy Spirit which is evidenced in speaking with Tongues is the most glorious experience for the believer!
Pray that God will help you to receive the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in Tongues . Ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit, for He gives the Holy Spirit to us not because who we are but because who Jesus is ! That’s why it is called as the Gift of the Holy Spirit. So, simply receive Him. Amen 🙏
