Jesus Your Defence and Excellence!

“My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;” Proverbs‬ ‭2:1-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Observe these words from the above passage- receive, treasure , incline , apply, cry out, lift up your voice, seek & search.
If we have to summarise all these 8 words into one word, it means DESPERATE. That’s exactly how God wants us to be when it comes to gaining wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

Each one of these words calls us for an undivided attention , close attentiveness and full engrossment on WISDOM, which God calls as the most wanted, of highest priority & the chief of all blessings.

King Solomon was desperate for wisdom. No wonder he offered 1000 burnt offerings. It might have taken him the whole night. In comparison it seems ridiculous the way we get tired of confessing “I am the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus” – even 10 times in a row. Some of us may need to muster all our strength to just say once .
The reason is that we don’t see the dire need of the hour – Wisdom ! It’s the hearing heart that leads to discernment then decision , leading to execution.
Let’s feverishly confess and keep confessing this great and awesome truth – I am the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, till we see through our tests into testimony, mediocrity into mastery & blunder into brilliance !

Jesus Your Defence and Excellence!

“Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”” I Kings‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

An understanding heart is a listening heart. It’s more important to be a listener than a speaker. Therefore, one needs to be a good listener to be wise!

Having said this, the question that you and I should ask ourselves is – Do I discern when listen?
We can be good listeners but are we able to read between lines or rather are we able to read between words? This intent listening is a gift of God.

This is what King Solomon the wise asked God for- a listening heart that can make him to discern and decide correctly.
If you don’t discern well, you need to confess your true identity – I am the righteousness in Christ Jesus. Why?

Because, that’s exactly what King Solomon did. He offered 1000 burnt offerings. Burnt offering refers to God’s righteousness. Yes, Jesus offered Himself as our Burnt offering at the Cross whereby we are made righteous.

“Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?”” II Chronicles‬ ‭1:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”” I Kings‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Both of the the above verses refer to the same incident. It’s about King Solomon’s prayer to God for wisdom and knowledge.
However, if we closely notice the words used in these verses, we will find that the words are different eventhough they have the same meaning.

In other words, “wisdom and knowledge” is mentioned same as the “understanding heart”. In the original Hebrew , it is written as the “Listening heart” Therefore, wisdom means a listening heart , a heart that is able to hear attentively.

James counsels saying , “So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.” James‬ ‭1:19‬.
We understand that wisdom is quick to hear yet slow to conclude and slow to be emotional.
This might sadly disqualify most of us from being wise.

But the Good news is that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus & confession of the same diligently, makes one quick to hear & slow to speak – makes you wise ! Amen 🙏

Jesus Your Defence and Excellence!

“Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men”.
‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:51-52‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus Christ is the epitome of wisdom. He is wisdom personified. Yet, He Himself grew in wisdom. If He Himself increased in wisdom , how much more you & I !

Secondly, of all the blessings God has for us, wisdom takes priority and is of paramount importance in the hierarchy as per the Holy Scriptures.

If God sees this as priority in life, we should feverishly seek wisdom as our priority– the excellence of knowledge every day.
More so for our children in this present evil age, since the Lord Jesus grew in wisdom from childhood.

As we begin this week, I pray that we all increase in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. Amen 🙏

“For in much wisdom is much grief, And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭1:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, But the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭7:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Two contrasting kinds of wisdom and knowledge:
Wisdom and knowledge that come from the world’s principles and wisdom and knowledge that come from God through His Son Jesus Christ.
The Scriptures reveal that increasing in the world directed wisdom and knowledge will cause grief and sorrow whereas wisdom and knowledge directed by God through Jesus Christ protects and imparts life.

Knowledge can be true and application of knowledge may be practical but does it impart life?

Grace and Truth came through Jesus Christ. Grace, who is on the side of the Truth, liberates every soul who receives this Grace. That’s why we proclaim Grace in the person of Jesus, who comes seeking the least, the lost and the last, imparting life, liberating the soul. Every word the Lord Jesus spoke brought hope and liberty .

Even at His death on the cross, one of the thieves was eternally blessed when the Lord spoke saying, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” Luke‬ ‭23:43‬ ‭. Is this not imparting life and liberating the soul? ‬‬Indeed it is ! This is the excellence of knowledge. Receive this Jesus and experience the liberating truth. Amen 🙏

“For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, But the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭7:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

One can have knowledge without wisdom but no one can have wisdom without knowledge. In common definition, Wisdom is the practical application of knowledge. Only when you know , can you then apply what you have known.

Having said this, not all application of knowledge imparts life as mentioned in the above scripture. There is a certain wisdom called “Excellence of knowledge“ that can alone impart life. This is the true definition of wisdom given by God Almighty Himself. WOW!

Oh, how desperately we need this kind of wisdom! Such wisdom can bring complete remedy to the global suffering of mankind including COVID . Because , this wisdom which is excellence of knowledge IMPARTS LIFE.

This wisdom came in the person of Jesus Christ- God’s ultimate solution to every suffering & agony of the desperate humanity.

Receiving Jesus in your heart is the beginning of wisdom. Amen 🙏

Wisdom, both protects us and progresses us. Knowledge can be acquired knowledge or experiential knowledge or even intuitive knowledge.
However, there is still a greater & higher level of knowledge called Excellence of knowledge. This is a gift of God and the source of it is God Himself.
The fullness of this excellence of knowledge was manifested when the Word became flesh . His name is JESUS!

When you receive this Jesus in your heart, you receive the Excellence of Knowledge that imparts life – life eternal. Amen 🙏

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:12 NKJV‬‬

The Lord Jesus Christ always believed that His disciples would do greater works than what He Himself did while He was on earth. He believed that His disciples would exceed all expectations . He also believed that His disciples had greater capacity to do greater works.

In the same manner,He believes in you too. You can exceed beyond your present capacity, talent ,ability , acumen & knowledge. This same Jesus can do it to you & through you.

My beloved, as we come to the end of this month, I wanted to conclude with this Truth that God chose His Son to become sin, who knew no sin so that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ. He also sent His Holy Spirit to come upon us to attest that Jesus is risen and is seated at His right hand of the Father. Make the Holy Spirit your treasure . My beloved friend , confide with Him all your cares, tormenting fears and challenges . He will turn all your sorrows into joy . Surely you will be elevated way beyond your wildest dreams. Amen 🙏

“For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. I wish you all spoke with tongues, ….”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭14:2, 4-5‬a NKJV‬‬

Speaking in tongues is speaking to God because it is His own language.

Speaking in tongues is speaking mysteries, unearthing remedies to every human agony and unresolved issues that baffled human minds for ages.

Speaking in tongues edifies the person who speaks it.

My beloved, let me share with you an awesome truth : It is very important to make positive confessions , yet speaking in tongues is far more effective . This is because when you speak in tongues, God would give you the apt word that will take you to your desired haven effortlessly.

How do you speak in tongues? Believe that Jesus died for you and rose from the dead. He is seated at the Father’s right hand & He is the REIGNING KING ! Confess that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus incessantly and you will experience the Heavenly flame within you birthing the heavenly language – The Gift of Tongues! Amen 🙏

“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
“Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:4,33‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The initial evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit ( or being baptised in the Holy Spirit ) is speaking in the unknown, heavenly language – Tongues. It is the language of God Himself. Though we may not understand fully what we speak but for sure we are speaking “POWER PACKED WORDS.”

WHEN YOU SPEAK WHO HE IS, HE MAKES YOU AS WHO HE HIMSELF IS !
Isn’t it amazing?!

Speaking in tongues (the heavenly language) is declaring that Jesus Christ is Risen and is seated at the right hand of God, far above all principalities and powers, might and dominion. He is the ETERNAL KING reigning over all things that includes CV.

As you speak in tongues you will witness yourself reigning as King/Queen over all the issues concerning your life. Problems bow down to you and can never be intimidating.

Embrace the Holy Spirit. Make Him your inheritance. Confess that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Long to speak in tongues even if it is just a few syllables. Yield your tongue to speak His language by which you reign in this life.
