Jesus Your Defence and Excellence!
“Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”” I Kings 3:9 NKJV
An understanding heart is a listening heart. It’s more important to be a listener than a speaker. Therefore, one needs to be a good listener to be wise!
Having said this, the question that you and I should ask ourselves is – Do I discern when listen?
We can be good listeners but are we able to read between lines or rather are we able to read between words? This intent listening is a gift of God.
This is what King Solomon the wise asked God for- a listening heart that can make him to discern and decide correctly.
If you don’t discern well, you need to confess your true identity – I am the righteousness in Christ Jesus. Why?
Because, that’s exactly what King Solomon did. He offered 1000 burnt offerings. Burnt offering refers to God’s righteousness. Yes, Jesus offered Himself as our Burnt offering at the Cross whereby we are made righteous.
