“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33 NKJV
We have been studying on God’s righteousness & now what is the Kingdom of God ?
Apostle Paul writes, “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Romans 14:17
Wow ! Again I see “Righteousness “ here . But what is interesting to note in this verse is that it is NOT “eating and drinking “. Eating and drinking is from outside to inside whereas Righteousness, Peace and Joy are from inside out, a change from within. In other words , kingdom of God works on inward transformation and not behaviour modification . It’s inside out transformation which happens only through the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!
Moreover, you experience peace and joy when you are declared righteous ( Romans 5:1,2). So then, the Kingdom of God is within us first of all & God lives in us through the Holy Spirit . Our body is the temple of God ( 1 Corinthians 6:19).
Our true identity is the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. In Christ Jesus means, Jesus’ obedience to God on the Cross that has given each of us this new identity.
Our confession that we are the Righteousness of God releases the Power of God in every area of our life to enjoy the righteousness, peace & joy of His Kingdom! Amen 🙏
